Pula Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Pula sits at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, Croatia’s other coastline beyond Dalmatia, a working port city built around one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters anywhere, with resort hotels along the Verudela Peninsula rather than old-town boutique hotels. This page looks at Pula specifically, separate from the Croatia country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the area, below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Pula
Pula works well for a resort-based wedding of almost any size, both Park Plaza Histria and Grand Hotel Brioni describe handling intimate elopements and larger celebrations without treating either as an afterthought.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Pula: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Pula as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Pula
Two resort hotels on the Verudela Peninsula with their own wedding teams, plus a 1st-century Roman amphitheater for portraits.

Park Plaza Histria Pula
A Mediterranean-style hotel on the Verudela Peninsula with Adriatic views, run by Arena Hospitality Group, which also handles weddings here. No fixed guest capacity is published, but the group describes handling both small, intimate weddings and larger ceremonies.
Grand Hotel Brioni Pula, a Radisson Collection Hotel
A newer premium hotel on the same Verudela Peninsula, positioned by Arena Hospitality Group for more exclusive, higher-end weddings, set among Mediterranean greenery with its own Adriatic frontage.
Pula Arena
Portrait-only, and even then, not straightforward. This 1st-century Roman amphitheater, one of the best-preserved in the world, was the setting for a lavish styled wedding shoot that landed on a Harper’s Bazaar cover, arranged by a wedding planner through the Arena’s management, but it isn’t a standard bookable venue. I’d treat it strictly as a backdrop and build the actual ceremony around a resort venue instead.
Your Pula Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Pula wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Croatia page?
The Croatia page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Pula, an Istrian port city known for its Roman Arena and its resort hotels on the Verudela Peninsula.
What’s the best time of year for a Pula wedding?
Late May, June, and September give warm Istrian weather while avoiding the busiest cruise and ferry traffic that passes through Pula in peak summer.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Pula has its own small airport with seasonal flights from parts of Europe, mostly in summer, while Trieste (Italy) or Rijeka give more reliable year-round connections if your wedding falls outside that season.
Can we actually get married inside the Pula Arena?
Not as an independently bookable venue, no. The Arena was used for a styled, high-end wedding photo shoot that reached Harper’s Bazaar, arranged by a local wedding planner working with the amphitheater’s management, but that’s presented as a special, planner-brokered arrangement rather than a standard booking. I’d treat the Arena as a dramatic portrait backdrop and plan your actual ceremony and reception at a resort venue.
Do we need a wedding planner in Pula?
I’d recommend one, especially if you want anything involving the Arena or another historic site, since access there runs through planners with existing relationships rather than a standard booking page. For a resort wedding at Park Plaza Histria or Grand Hotel Brioni, their in-house events teams handle most of the coordination.
