Val d’Isère Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Val d’Isère is a high-altitude ski resort in the French Alps, built for winter sports rather than wedding receptions, so the genuine venue list here comes down to a handful of luxury mountain hotels rather than a long directory. There are really two worth knowing, a Relais & Châteaux hotel with ski-in access and a five-star lodge in the village center. This page looks at Val d’Isère specifically, separate from the France country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the resort, a reception in a wood-paneled mountain dining room, portraits against the glacier and the Rocher de Bellevarde above the village. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Val d’Isère
Val d’Isère works beautifully for an intimate elopement, and its genuinely limited venue bench tends to favor a smaller, more private celebration over a very large one.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Val d’Isère: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Val d’Isère as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Val d’Isère
Two genuine wedding venues in the resort, plus the mountain itself where I’d plan your portraits.

Les Barmes de l’Ours
A five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel with ski-in, ski-out access, its rooms individually themed around Africa, Asia, the Alps, and the Tyrol. It hosts winter weddings in its wood-paneled dining rooms and spa, built around the mountain rather than apart from it.
Hôtel Le Blizzard
A five-star hotel in the center of the village, within walking distance of the slopes, used for private wedding receptions in its restaurant and event spaces.
The Rocher de Bellevarde
Not a bookable venue, the peak above Val d’Isère reached by cable car, with views across the glacier and the surrounding Alps. This is where I’d plan a portrait session around a Val d’Isère wedding, weather and season permitting.
Your Val d’Isère Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Val d’Isère wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your France page?
The France page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Val d’Isère, an Alpine ski resort with two genuine wedding venues plus the mountain itself for portraits.
What’s the best time of year for a Val d’Isère wedding?
Winter, from December through April, is when the resort is actually open and at its most atmospheric, with snow-covered peaks for portraits. A summer wedding is possible but loses the setting that makes this destination distinctive.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Geneva Airport is the most common choice, about two and a half hours from Val d’Isère by road, with Chambéry and Lyon also within reach for some guests.
Is a winter wedding at altitude difficult to plan?
It takes more coordination than a lowland wedding, mainly around guest travel, altitude, and weather contingency for any outdoor portraits, but both hotels here are used to hosting winter events and can advise on timing.
Do we need a wedding planner in Val d’Isère?
Both hotels run experienced in-house events teams for a reception, so a dedicated planner isn’t essential, but one helps with guest logistics like transfers and altitude acclimatization for a larger wedding party.
