Cork Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Cork spreads across East Cork’s wooded estates and the working farms around Ballymaloe, a quieter and more food-focused county than the postcard-castle image of Irish weddings. This page looks at Cork specifically, separate from the wider Ireland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the county, a reception beside a ruined castle wall, a civil ceremony in a walled garden, a wedding banquet built around a kitchen garden’s own produce. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Cork
Cork works well for an intimate elopement in one of its smaller dining rooms, and just as well for a full wedding weekend across one of its larger estates.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Cork: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Cork as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Cork
Three estates across East Cork, from a 17th-century manor beside a ruined castle to a working farmhouse table and a golf-resort ballroom.

Castlemartyr Resort, Castlemartyr
A 17th-century manor house set in 220 acres of East Cork woodland, beside the ruins of an older castle the resort dates to the 13th century. Civil ceremonies are approved either inside the manor or against the castle backdrop, and the resort runs 103 rooms plus 47 self-catering lodges, so a wedding party can stay together on the grounds. It’s about 25 minutes from Cork Airport.
Ballymaloe House, Shanagarry
A historic country house on a working 300-acre farm, long known first for its food. Grainstore Weddings on the grounds run up to 200 guests, intimate weddings scale down to as few as 2, and a full exclusive-hire takeover of the house itself is available for smaller parties who want the whole property. Ceremonies and celebrations are licensed throughout the estate rather than in one fixed room.
Fota Island Resort, Fota Island
A golf resort just outside Cork city, with the Smith Barry Suite ballroom holding up to 300 guests and the Golf Clubhouse offered separately for a smaller, more intimate wedding. It’s the choice on this page for a couple who wants a modern resort scale rather than a historic house.
Your Cork Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Cork wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Ireland page?
The Ireland page on this site covers the whole country. This page looks specifically at Cork, from a 17th-century manor beside a ruined castle to a working farmhouse table and a golf-resort ballroom.
What’s the best time of year for a Cork wedding?
Late May through September again gives the most reliable weather. Castlemartyr and Fota both plan for outdoor-or-indoor flexibility either way, since Irish weather can turn regardless of the month.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Cork Airport is the natural choice for any of the three venues on this page, roughly 20 to 40 minutes away depending on the venue. Dublin Airport works too for guests connecting through a bigger international hub.
Can Ballymaloe House really host our full wedding, not just the food?
Yes, though it’s worth knowing upfront that Ballymaloe’s reputation was built on its restaurant and cookery school, so the wedding side runs more like a country-house celebration than a purpose-built function venue. That’s part of its appeal for a couple who wants a produce-led wedding meal.
Do we need a wedding planner in Cork?
At Castlemartyr or Fota, both run dedicated wedding teams who handle most of the coordination. Ballymaloe’s exclusive-hire option benefits more from a planner, simply because you’re coordinating a wider spread of the property rather than one fixed function room.
