Granada’s real advantage is the Alhambra itself, with a genuine hotel inside its walls and a historic city-view hotel looking straight at it. This page looks at Granada specifically, separate from the Spain country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.

I photograph weddings across the city, a reception inside the Alhambra’s own walls, a ceremony with the fortress as a backdrop, portraits through the Albaicín’s narrow streets. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.

From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Granada

Granada covers both ends of the scale well, from a two-person elopement in the Albaicín’s streets to a full wedding inside the Alhambra’s own walls.

I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding

No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Granada: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage

Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Granada as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.

Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.

For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.

This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.

Wedding venue near Granada

Parador de Granada
Genuinely inside the Alhambra’s walls: a Nasrid palace first built under Muhammad II in the late 13th century, converted into a Franciscan convent by the Catholic Monarchs in 1494. Isabella and Ferdinand were both buried here before their remains moved to Granada Cathedral in 1521. Restored in the late 1920s, it’s been a state-run Parador hotel since 1945.

Hotel Alhambra Palace
Opened on 1 January 1910, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII and built as Andalusia’s first iron-framed building, with panoramic views across to the Alhambra itself.

Carmen de los Chapiteles
A historic mansion with its own garden in the Albaicín, Granada’s old Moorish quarter, worth confirming current capacity and booking terms directly.

Your Granada Wedding Photographer

I’m Dejan, a Granada wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.

I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we really get married inside the Alhambra?

Yes, at the Parador de Granada, a hotel built into a Nasrid palace turned convent inside the Alhambra’s own walls, though it’s worth confirming availability and guest numbers well ahead given how sought-after the location is.

Who is buried at the Parador de Granada?

Isabella and Ferdinand, the Catholic Monarchs, were both buried in the convent here after their deaths, before their remains were later moved to the Royal Chapel at Granada Cathedral in 1521.

How old is Hotel Alhambra Palace?

It opened on 1 January 1910, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII, and was Andalusia’s first building with an iron frame.

What’s the best time of year for a Granada wedding?

Spring and autumn for comfortable weather, since the Alhambra and the Albaicín’s streets both get crowded with tourists and hot in peak summer.

Which airport should our guests fly into?

Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport is the closest, though Malaga’s larger airport, about ninety minutes away, often has more international routes.
