Cartagena Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Cartagena pairs a modern hotel close to its Roman port with a greenhouse estate just outside the city, with the Modernist Casino de Cartagena nearby for portraits. This page looks at Cartagena specifically, separate from the Spain country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the city and its surrounds, a reception inside a naturally-lit hotel hall, a ceremony under glass and tropical planting, portraits against the Casino’s Modernist façade. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Cartagena
Cartagena covers both ends of the scale well, from a 100-guest hotel wedding in the city to a 400-guest reception under Los Jardines del Mar Menor’s greenhouse.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Cartagena: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Cartagena as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues in Cartagena
A modern hotel near the port, a greenhouse estate outside town, and a Modernist palace for the portraits.

NH Campo de Cartagena
A modern hotel in the city, close to the Archaeological Museum and the renovated port promenade. Its halls are quiet and naturally lit, with capacity for up to 100 guests.
Los Jardines del Mar Menor
An estate in Torre Pacheco, about 20 minutes outside Cartagena, built around a large greenhouse surrounded by tropical gardens. Banquets run from 100 up to 400 guests, with outdoor space for the ceremony under the trees.
Casino de Cartagena
A Modernist palace from 1896, still a private members’ club rather than a rentable venue, but one of the city’s most striking buildings, with a tiled entrance hall and a dancing hall lit by a chandelier called Gloria Coronando el Genio. It works well as a portrait backdrop near the old town.
Your Cartagena Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Cartagena wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is NH Campo de Cartagena right in the historic centre?
It’s close to the Archaeological Museum and the port promenade rather than deep in the old town, so it’s a short walk or drive from Cartagena’s Roman sites for portraits.
What’s actually inside the greenhouse at Los Jardines del Mar Menor?
It’s a large glass structure surrounded by tropical planting, used as a covered reception space that works whatever the weather does outside.
Can we actually hold our wedding at Casino de Cartagena?
No, it’s a private members’ club with occasional public events arranged with the town hall, not a venue available for private hire. It’s worth it as a portrait location, not a ceremony or reception site.
What’s the best time of year for a Cartagena wedding?
Spring and autumn avoid the Mediterranean coast’s hottest weeks, especially for anything outdoors at Los Jardines del Mar Menor.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Región de Murcia International Airport is the closest, with Alicante airport as a workable second option depending on flight availability.
