The Best Wedding Venues in Arezzo
Four venues across Arezzo, from a Medici-era wine estate to a medieval fortified hamlet and private castles near Anghiari.
Villa La Selva, Bucine
A centuries-old wine estate in the Val d’Ambra, already chosen by the Medici as a country villa and largely unchanged since. The ceremony hall has vaulted ceilings, the estate keeps its own small family chapel, and a formal Italian garden and panoramic terrace give you the rest of the day. Guest capacity stays deliberately small, up to about 50, with on-site rooms across the villa, the winery house and several garden suites, so the whole wedding party can actually stay together on the property.
Castello di Gargonza, Monte San Savino
A fortified medieval hamlet between the Chianti hills and the Val di Chiana, kept deliberately unrestored, the stone walls, the wooden stairs and the original stairwells left as they were rather than modernized into a generic castle hotel. Gargonza has its own restaurant on site for the reception, apartments across the hamlet for guests to stay in, and enough green space around the walls for an outdoor ceremony.
Castello di Sorci, Anghiari
A real medieval tower and fortified farmhouse below Anghiari, run by the same family for generations as a countryside osteria known for its enormous fixed-menu Tuscan dinner, course after course of it, before it took on weddings as well. It’s the choice on this page for a couple who wants a genuinely rustic, unpolished Tuscan feast built into the wedding itself, not a plated dinner dressed up to look rural.
Castello di Galbino, Anghiari
A private castle estate near Anghiari, rented exclusively for one wedding at a time rather than shared with other events. Galbino holds up to 120 guests with on-site rooms for 26 of them, gardens and olive groves around the property, and a working relationship with a short list of planners, caterers and florists who already know the castle, useful for a couple coordinating a wedding here from abroad.

Villa La Selva works similarly given its small on-site accommodation. It’s worth asking each venue directly about minimum-night requirements when you inquire.
Do we need a wedding planner in Arezzo?
I’d recommend one, particularly for a venue like Castello di Gargonza or Castello di Sorci, both of which are historic properties first and event venues second, without the large in-house wedding teams you’d find at a purpose-built hotel. A planner who already knows the property saves real coordination time for a couple planning from abroad.
