Hvar Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Hvar sits in the central Adriatic, an island with a reputation as one of Croatia’s established wedding destinations, built less around private villas and more around a single resort group’s own beach-club venues, a genuinely different booking process from the rest of Dalmatia. This page looks at Hvar specifically, separate from the Croatia country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the area, below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Hvar
Hvar works well across a wide range of guest counts, Bonj les Bains scales from the group’s average 80-guest wedding up to a 300-guest maximum, which gives real flexibility whether you’re planning something intimate or a larger celebration.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Hvar: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Hvar as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Hvar
A beach club with white stone colonnades and its own wedding team, plus a hilltop fortress and the Pakleni Islands for portraits.

Bonj les Bains, Sunčani Hvar
Run by the Sunčani Hvar hotel group, this is the island’s signature wedding venue, a beach club built with white stone colonnades that one write-up calls “the architectural jewel that became a synonym for epic Hvar weddings.” It holds up to 300 guests at full capacity, though the group’s own average wedding runs closer to 80, and the hotel brings its own wedding planner and head chef into the planning.
Fortica Fortress
A 16th-century fortress on the hill above Hvar Town, built after an Ottoman raid destroyed much of the town below. Not run as a dedicated wedding venue, but a striking portrait location with views across the harbor and out to the Pakleni Islands.
The Pakleni Islands
Portrait-only. A small archipelago of pine-covered islets a short boat ride from Hvar Town’s harbor, with quiet coves that work well for a smaller sunset portrait session away from the town’s summer crowds.
Your Hvar Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Hvar wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Croatia page?
The Croatia page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Hvar, the Adriatic island built around a single resort group’s white stone colonnades and a reputation as one of Croatia’s established wedding destinations.
What’s the best time of year for a Hvar wedding?
Late May through June and September give reliable sunshine without July and August’s peak nightlife crowds, Hvar Town has a genuine party reputation in high summer that’s worth factoring in if you want a quieter atmosphere.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Hvar has no airport of its own. Most guests fly into Split and take the roughly one-hour ferry across, or fly into Brač’s small airport and connect by catamaran, so I’d build ferry timing into the wedding weekend schedule from the start.
Can Bonj les Bains actually host our full guest list?
Yes, up to a point. Bonj les Bains, run by Sunčani Hvar, caps out at 300 guests, though the group’s average wedding runs closer to 80. For anything near that maximum, I’d confirm layout and timing directly with their wedding coordinator well in advance.
Do we need a wedding planner in Hvar?
Not necessarily if you book through Sunčani Hvar, their hotel group runs its own dedicated wedding planner and coordinator for Bonj les Bains. An independent planner becomes more useful if you want a ceremony elsewhere on the island, outside the resort group’s own venues.
