Las Palmas pairs a grand historic hotel in the city with a restored hacienda in Arucas and a mountain finca above Firgas, three very different sides of Gran Canaria within half an hour of each other. This page looks at Las Palmas specifically, separate from the Spain country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.

I photograph weddings across Gran Canaria, a reception inside a historic city hotel, a ceremony on a hacienda with roots in the island’s sugar cane era, portraits in the hills above Firgas. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.

From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Las Palmas

Las Palmas covers both ends of the scale well, from an intimate ceremony at a restored hacienda in Arucas to an 800-guest reception at a historic city hotel.

I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding

No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Las Palmas: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage

Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Las Palmas as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.

Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.

For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.

This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.

Santa Catalina, A Royal Hideaway Hotel
A fully renovated historic hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, close to the sea. Its event spaces run from the small Restaurante Poemas up to Salón Palmeras at 400 guests and the Jardín Atrio at 260, with capacity across the hotel up to 800.

Hacienda del Buen Suceso
A rural hotel in Arucas, about 15 minutes from Las Palmas, built on land with roots in the island’s sugar cane era. Its main lounge keeps stone walls and high ceilings, and the grounds include gardens and a heated pool.

Finca Los Pinos
A house and gardens in the hills above Firgas, around 20 minutes from the city. The estate is laid out so guests move through separate areas for the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing across the evening, with banquets for up to 300.

Your Las Palmas Wedding Photographer

I’m Dejan, a Las Palmas wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.

I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Santa Catalina really host 800 guests?

That figure covers the hotel’s full capacity across multiple spaces at once; for a single wedding, Salón Palmeras (400) or the Jardín Atrio (260) are the more realistic ceilings for one event.

Does Hacienda del Buen Suceso have an indoor space for a wedding?

Yes, its main lounge has stone walls and high ceilings, and there’s a convention room on site, though it’s a rural hotel first, so always confirm wedding-specific terms directly with them.

What makes Finca Los Pinos different from a typical finca?

The layout moves guests through distinct zones for cocktails, dinner and dancing rather than keeping everyone in one space all evening, which changes the pace of the night.

What’s the best time of year for a Gran Canaria wedding?

The island’s climate stays mild most of the year, so the usual deciding factor is avoiding peak tourist season in August rather than the weather itself.

Which airport should our guests fly into?

Gran Canaria Airport, about 20 to 30 minutes from Las Palmas and all three of these venues depending on traffic.
