Salamanca Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Salamanca’s old city is one golden-stone university town, and its best wedding venue sits inside a former convent right in the middle of it. This page looks at Salamanca specifically, separate from the Spain country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the city, a reception in a 16th-century cloister, portraits in the Plaza Mayor and along the golden stone streets around the cathedral. Below is the real venue worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Salamanca
Salamanca works well for a smaller, intimate wedding, from a 16-guest ceremony in the convent’s smallest room to a 150-guest reception across its combined event spaces.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Salamanca: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Salamanca as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues in Salamanca
A 16th-century convent’s cloisters right in the centre, and the Plaza Mayor a short walk away for the rest.

Hospes Palacio de San Esteban
A 16th-century Dominican convent in the heart of Salamanca, a Plateresque landmark beside the cathedral, now a hotel with its former refectory, library, and two cloistered patios set up for events. Its largest combined space holds up to 150 guests for a cocktail-style reception, 68 in a seated imperial layout.
Plaza Mayor
Not a wedding venue, but Spain’s most celebrated square, golden stone and baroque arcades, a short walk from the convent and the obvious spot for portraits.
Your Salamanca Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Salamanca wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can Hospes Palacio de San Esteban really hold?
Up to 150 for a cocktail-style event across its combined spaces, or as few as 16 in its smallest room, Consejo B, for a genuinely intimate ceremony.
Is the Plaza Mayor available for wedding photos?
Yes, it’s a public square, so there’s no booking needed, though it does get busy, early morning or around sunset works best for a calmer frame.
What’s the best time of year for a Salamanca wedding?
Spring and early autumn. Salamanca’s summer runs hot and dry, and its winters can be genuinely cold for the city’s elevation.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Madrid-Barajas, about two and a half hours by road, is the practical choice. Salamanca’s own airport has very limited commercial service.
Do we need a wedding planner in Salamanca?
Not essential for a hotel wedding at San Esteban, since its own events team runs the day directly.
