Santander Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Santander’s wedding story runs through its royal-era architecture, a grand hotel built in the same years and style as the palace the Spanish royal family once summered in along this same stretch of coast. This page looks at Santander specifically, separate from the Spain country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the city, a reception in a hotel’s French-style halls, portraits on the Magdalena Peninsula and along El Sardinero beach. Below is the real venue worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Santander
Santander scales well, from a 70-guest ceremony in one of the hotel’s smaller rooms to a 350-guest reception combining its full set of halls.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Santander: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Santander as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues in Santander
A French-style hotel built in the royal era, and the actual royal palace along the same stretch of coast for portraits.

Eurostars Hotel Real
Built on a hill above Playa de los Peligros, between the old town and El Sardinero, in French-style halls dating from the years the royal family spent summers nearby. Regente I holds up to 70 guests, Regente I plus II up to 130, and the hotel can combine its rooms for up to 350.
Palacio de la Magdalena
The actual royal summer residence, built from 1908 and funded by local public subscription, on its own peninsula a short walk from the hotel. Worth confirming directly with the city whether a private ceremony is possible there, since it also functions as a public visitor site and summer university campus.
Your Santander Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Santander wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can Eurostars Hotel Real really hold?
Up to 350 combining all its rooms, or as few as 18 in its smallest space, Horadada, for a genuinely intimate celebration.
Can we have our ceremony at the Palacio de la Magdalena?
Worth confirming directly with the city, since the palace operates partly as a public visitor attraction and a summer university campus. It’s a genuinely striking backdrop either way, ceremony or portraits.
What’s the best time of year for a Santander wedding?
Summer is most reliable for weather on this stretch of the Cantabrian coast, which stays noticeably cooler and wetter than inland Spain through the rest of the year.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Seve Ballesteros Santander Airport is about 15 minutes from the city and has a handful of direct European routes, otherwise Bilbao Airport, about an hour and a half away, has more options.
Do we need a wedding planner in Santander?
Not essential for a hotel wedding, since Eurostars Hotel Real’s own events team runs most of the logistics directly.
