Waterford Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Waterford’s standout venue sits on a private island reached only by chain ferry, with a Georgian manor nearby for a couple who’d rather skip the boat. This page looks at Waterford specifically, separate from the wider Ireland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the region, a reception inside an oak-panelled dining room, a marquee wedding on a private island’s lawns, portraits along the River Suir. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Waterford
Waterford works well for an intimate elopement in one of the smaller dining rooms, and just as well for a larger marquee wedding on the island’s grounds.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Waterford: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Waterford as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Waterford
A private island castle on the River Suir, and a Georgian manor with its own golf course just outside the city.

Waterford Castle, Little Island
A 15th-century castle on its own 310-acre wooded island on the River Suir, reached by a chain-linked private ferry rather than a bridge. Catering runs up to 120 guests across the Munster Room and Conservatory, with marquees available on the grounds for larger parties. The oak-panelled Munster Dining Room is the setting for the wedding dinner itself, and the island’s private gardens give the rest of the day its backdrop.
Faithlegg House Hotel, Faithlegg
A Georgian manor house hotel about 15 minutes from Waterford city, with its own 18-hole golf course on the grounds. The Minaun Room, with 18-foot ceilings and views over the estate, holds up to 140 seated or 160 standing, suiting a medium-sized wedding of 100 to 140 guests comfortably.
Your Waterford Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Waterford wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Ireland page?
The Ireland page on this site covers the whole country. This page looks specifically at Waterford, from a private island castle on the River Suir to a Georgian manor just outside the city.
How do guests actually get to Waterford Castle?
By a chain-linked car ferry across the River Suir, included as part of the venue, there’s no bridge to the island. It’s worth building a little extra time into the day’s schedule for the crossing, especially for a larger guest list.
What’s the best time of year for a Waterford wedding?
Late May through September for the most reliable weather on the island’s grounds. Both venues plan for indoor backup regardless, since Ireland’s weather can turn at short notice any time of year.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Dublin Airport is the main option, about two hours by road. Cork Airport is closer for some guests, roughly 90 minutes, and Waterford’s own small regional airport has very limited scheduled service, worth checking directly before relying on it.
Do we need a wedding planner in Waterford?
Not necessarily at either venue, both run their own wedding or events teams who handle day-to-day coordination. A planner adds more value on a multi-day celebration or if you’re coordinating suppliers from abroad.
