Amalfi Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

When people picture an Amalfi Coast wedding, they are usually picturing Ravello, even if they do not know the name yet. The town sits three hundred meters above the water, gardens carved into the cliff face with views that do not need much help from a photographer to look unreasonable. Amalfi town itself, down at sea level with its cathedral steps and lemon groves, and the coastline running toward Vietri sul Mare and Salerno, round out what this page covers.
I have photographed weddings across all of it, a clifftop hotel garden, a Gore Vidal-owned villa turned private rental, a beach club big enough for a wedding your whole extended family can actually attend. This page is for that stretch of coast specifically, not Positano, which has real differences worth knowing and gets its own dedicated page. Below are four venues I would point a couple toward, plus the questions I get asked most before booking here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Amalfi
Amalfi works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Amalfi: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Amalfi as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Amalfi
Four venues across Ravello, Amalfi town and the coast toward Vietri sul Mare, from a clifftop hotel garden to a private villa rental and a sea-level beach club.

Belmond Hotel Caruso, Ravello
A clifftop five-star hotel built around the Wagner Gardens, a terraced lawn with a view of the coastline that has become one of the most photographed backdrops on the Amalfi Coast. Caruso holds up to 100 guests, requires a minimum of 30 overall and 80 on a Friday or Saturday, and runs its own in-house catering with executive chefs building a bespoke menu rather than working from a set list. Civil ceremonies happen at Ravello’s town hall or in the Giardini della Principessa di Piemonte, with the Duomo of Ravello or Santa Maria a Grandillo available for a religious service. The hotel also runs boat shuttles to Amalfi and Positano for guests who want to see more of the coast during a multi-day wedding weekend.
Villa Cimbrone, Ravello
Known locally as the hidden treasure of the coast, Villa Cimbrone holds up to 150 guests across Mediterranean gardens and Gothic-arched dining halls that look older than most of Italy’s actual castles. The venue operates on internal catering only and runs weddings during the summer season, with civil ceremonies requiring an off-site church in Ravello since Cimbrone itself only hosts symbolic and Protestant services. Terrace views of the Mediterranean and a wet-weather indoor plan mean the setting works whether the day goes exactly to plan or not.
La Rondinaia, Ravello
Once owned by Gore Vidal, La Rondinaia is a private villa rental rather than a hotel, booked exclusively for a minimum of three nights so the whole property, its cobalt pool, sauna and 2.5 hectares of lemon and olive groves, belongs only to your wedding for the weekend. It holds up to 100 guests outdoors and 50 in the Italian Salon if the weather turns, sleeps 12 across six bedrooms, and keeps catering entirely in-house. Civil and Catholic ceremonies happen a short walk away in Ravello’s town center, with symbolic or Protestant services staged directly on the villa terraces.
Giardini del Fuenti, Vietri sul Mare
The outlier on this page in the best way, Giardini del Fuenti sits at sea level in Vietri sul Mare, at the edge of the Amalfi Coast toward Salerno, and holds up to 350 seated guests across several terraced spaces, the Limoneto reception area shaded by lemon trees, a beach club called Riva del Fuenti, and a dedicated ceremony terrace called Terrazza delle Rose. It is also one of the few venues on this page that allows external catering alongside its own kitchen, which matters if you have a specific chef or cuisine in mind. There is no on-site lodging, so guests stay nearby in Vietri or Cetara.
Your Amalfi Coast Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, an Amalfi Coast wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from a Positano wedding?
This page covers Ravello, Amalfi town and the coastline toward Vietri sul Mare and Salerno. Positano sits on its own stretch of the coast with a different look and its own logistics, cliffside stairs rather than terraced gardens, and gets its own dedicated page. If Ravello’s gardens or a Vietri beach club fit what you are picturing more than Positano’s pink and terracotta cliffs, this is the right page to start from.
Why are so many of these venues actually in Ravello, not Amalfi town itself?
Ravello sits above Amalfi town on the same stretch of coast, and it has become the area’s most requested wedding base because of the elevation, gardens like Cimbrone’s and the Caruso’s Wagner Gardens are built into a clifftop with views Amalfi’s sea-level piazzas cannot match. Locals and wedding planners alike use “Amalfi Coast wedding” and “Ravello wedding” almost interchangeably for this reason.
What’s the best time of year for a wedding here?
Late May through June and September into early October are the sweet spot, warm enough for an outdoor ceremony without August’s heat, crowds and cruise-ship traffic through Amalfi town itself. Villa Cimbrone only runs weddings during the summer season specifically, so check that window if it’s the venue you want.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Naples is the standard choice for the whole Amalfi Coast, roughly an hour to Ravello by car or a bit less by helicopter transfer, which several of these hotels can arrange directly. Guests coming from farther afield sometimes route through Rome instead and add a night in Naples or Sorrento before the drive down.
Do we need a wedding planner for an Amalfi Coast wedding?
Strongly recommended. Several venues on this page, Villa Cimbrone and La Rondinaia among them, require the civil ceremony to happen off-site at a separate town hall or church, which means coordinating timing, transport and paperwork across two locations in one day. A planner who knows Ravello and Amalfi’s town halls specifically is worth far more here than a generalist.
