Cassis Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Cassis is a small fishing port on the Provence coast between Marseille and Toulon, right at the edge of Calanques National Park, and that scale keeps the list of genuine wedding venues here short and honest rather than padded. There are really only two, a cliffside fortress with its own chapel and a private estate rented whole rather than booked by the event. This page looks at Cassis specifically, separate from the France country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the town, a ceremony inside a medieval fortress, a reception on a terrace over the sea, portraits along the limestone coves that run toward Marseille. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Cassis
Cassis works beautifully for an intimate elopement, and its genuinely limited venue bench tends to favor a smaller, more private celebration over a very large one.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Cassis: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Cassis as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Cassis
Two genuine wedding venues directly in Cassis, both overlooking the Mediterranean, plus the coastline where I’d plan your portraits.

Château de Cassis
A fortress on the Cap Canaille cliffs above Cassis, with origins as a 5th-century Roman watchtower. Its four square towers were added between 1372 and 1380, and the 14th-century Church of Saint-Michel still stands on the property alongside a heated pool and eight guest bedrooms. It holds up to 130 seated guests, with the Mediterranean visible from the grounds.
Domaine de Canaille
A 60-hectare estate on the edge of Calanques National Park, a 19th-century villa renovated in 2017 with a 400-square-meter terrace looking out over Arena Beach. It’s rented as a whole property rather than a traditional event venue, with large celebrations limited to two or three a year and capped at 110 guests, so availability for a wedding-sized booking is genuinely limited, worth asking early.
The Calanques and Cap Canaille
Not bookable venues, the limestone coves between Cassis and Marseille and the cliff road above the town. Neither hosts a ceremony, but both are where I’d plan a portrait session around a Cassis wedding.
Your Cassis Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Cassis wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your France page?
The France page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Cassis, a small Provence fishing port at the edge of Calanques National Park with only two genuine wedding venues, plus the coastline around it.
What’s the best time of year for a Cassis wedding?
May through June and September give the most reliable weather while avoiding August’s peak crowds and heat. The Mistral wind can pick up along this coast at any time of year, so an experienced local venue team is worth asking about contingency plans for an outdoor ceremony.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Marseille Provence Airport is the nearest, about thirty-five to forty-five minutes from Cassis by car, and handles a good range of European and some intercontinental connections.
Is Domaine de Canaille really inside the national park?
The property markets itself as sitting within Calanques National Park, though the park’s protected zoning is genuinely complex, with a stricter core zone and a wider buffer area. I’d confirm the exact boundary and any access restrictions directly with the venue before building your day around it.
Do we need a wedding planner in Cassis?
For Domaine de Canaille’s whole-property rental structure and multi-night minimum stays, yes, it helps. Château de Cassis runs more like a turn-key venue, so it needs less outside coordination.
