Zurich Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Zurich sits at the northern end of Lake Zurich, Switzerland’s financial capital but also a city with a genuinely well-preserved medieval Old Town, guild houses included, right along the river. This page looks at Zurich specifically, separate from the Switzerland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the city, a reception inside a centuries-old guild hall, a ceremony at a lakefront hotel with its own official wedding-venue status, portraits through the Old Town and along the lake promenade. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Zurich
Zurich works for both an intimate ceremony and a larger celebration, and its guild houses can scale from one named room to several combined.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Zurich: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Zurich as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Zurich
A baroque guild house in the Old Town, a lakefront hotel with official wedding-venue status, and the lake promenade for portraits.

Zunfthaus zur Meisen
A 1757 baroque former guild house right on Münsterhof square in the Old Town, with a dedicated wedding page and downloadable wedding packages. Named spaces include the Grand Guild Hall, the Northern and Southern Guild Halls, the Wing Room, the Piano Nobile, and a smaller Hermitage room; I’d confirm exact capacity for each room directly, since it isn’t published on the venue’s own page.
The Dolder Grand
A lakeview hotel above the city that describes itself as one of Zurich’s official wedding venues, with civil ceremonies held in its Libraries space from April through October on selected dates only. Wedding packages start from CHF 348 per person, with an in-house florist and patisserie, and the hotel has picked up a Swiss Wedding Award and an EWPC APEX Award; no overall guest capacity is published.
Baur au Lac
A well-known lakefront hotel that shows up across general wedding directories, but I haven’t found the hotel’s own wedding page confirming hosting or capacity directly, so I’d check with them before counting on it.
Lake Zurich Promenade and the Old Town
Not bookable venues. The lake promenade around Bürkliplatz and the Altstadt around the guild houses and the Fraumünster and Grossmünster churches are where I’d plan portraits.
Your Zurich Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Zurich wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Switzerland page?
The Switzerland page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Zurich, a lakefront city with a well-preserved Old Town of baroque guild houses.
What’s the best time of year for a Zurich wedding?
Late May through June and September give the most reliable weather while avoiding the heaviest summer crowds.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Zurich Airport is Switzerland’s largest, with direct flights from across Europe and several long-haul routes, genuinely one of the easier Swiss cities to fly guests into directly.
Is a Swiss wedding ceremony actually legally binding, or just symbolic?
Only a civil ceremony booked through the City of Zurich’s civil registry is legally binding, any religious or symbolic ceremony has to follow it rather than replace it. If neither of you lives in Switzerland, the paperwork goes through a Swiss representation abroad first and the whole process typically takes two to six months, so I’d build that timeline in early if a legal Swiss wedding is the plan.
Do we need a wedding planner in Zurich?
For a venue like Zunfthaus zur Meisen or The Dolder Grand, the venue’s own events team handles much of the coordination. For the civil-ceremony paperwork specifically, I’d still recommend a local planner familiar with Swiss registry requirements.
