Lausanne Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Lausanne sits on terraces above Lake Geneva, the self-declared Olympic capital with its cathedral on the hill and the lakeside Ouchy district below. This page looks at Lausanne specifically, separate from the Switzerland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the city, a reception in a Belle Époque ballroom on the lake, a ceremony in the garden grounds of a palace hotel, portraits along the Ouchy harbor and up through the old town. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Lausanne
Lausanne works for both an intimate ceremony and a larger celebration, though its best-known venues lean toward smaller, more private gatherings rather than very large parties.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Lausanne: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Lausanne as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Lausanne
A Belle Époque lake palace, a medieval lakeside castle, and the Ouchy harbor for portraits.

Beau-Rivage Palace
A Belle Époque palace hotel directly on Lake Geneva, confirmed as a wedding venue with a dedicated weddings section. Couples can marry in the garden grounds with the lake as a backdrop or in a Belle Époque room, with the reception moving from the terrace to a ballroom; no guest capacity is published, so I’d confirm directly.
Lausanne Palace
A hotel on the hill above the lake, open since 1915, with a ballroom and an events team that markets itself toward chic, urban weddings; I found the hotel’s own room count listed two different ways (140 rooms in one spot, 139 in another), so I’d confirm the practical details directly rather than take the brochure at face value.
Château d’Ouchy
A 12th-century castle on the lakeshore in the Ouchy district, now a hotel. Its only listed event space, the Vinothèque, holds just 30 guests for a banquet, which makes it better suited to a small ceremony or an elopement than a full wedding; the venue promotes weddings but I haven’t found independent confirmation of one actually held there.
Ouchy Harbor and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame
Not bookable venues. The lakeside promenade at Ouchy and the hilltop Gothic cathedral above the old town are where I’d plan portraits.
Your Lausanne Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Lausanne wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Switzerland page?
The Switzerland page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Lausanne, the Olympic capital built on terraces above Lake Geneva.
What’s the best time of year for a Lausanne wedding?
Late May through June and September give the most reliable weather while avoiding the heaviest summer crowds.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Geneva Airport is the nearest with international flights, a genuinely easy 45 minutes by direct train into Lausanne, one of the simpler Swiss cities to fly guests into.
Is a Swiss wedding ceremony actually legally binding, or just symbolic?
Only a civil ceremony booked through the City of Lausanne’s civil registry is legally binding, any religious or symbolic ceremony has to follow it rather than replace it. If neither of you lives in Switzerland, the paperwork goes through a Swiss representation abroad first and the whole process typically takes two to six months, so I’d build that timeline in early if a legal Swiss wedding is the plan.
Do we need a wedding planner in Lausanne?
For a venue like Beau-Rivage Palace, the venue’s own events team handles much of the coordination. For the civil-ceremony paperwork specifically, I’d still recommend a local planner familiar with Swiss registry requirements.
