Interlaken Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Interlaken sits in the valley between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, directly under the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, a town built around mountain access rather than any single Old Town. This page looks at Interlaken specifically, separate from the Switzerland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the town, a reception in a Belle Époque ballroom between the two lakes, a ceremony at a historic hall beside a waterfall, portraits in the meadow of Höhematte park with the Jungfrau behind. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Interlaken
Interlaken works for both an intimate ceremony and a larger celebration, and its grand-hotel and lakeside venues can scale from a small ceremony to a few hundred guests.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Interlaken: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Interlaken as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Interlaken
A Belle Époque grand hotel, a historic lakeside hall, and Höhematte park for portraits.

Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa
A Belle Époque five-star hotel between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with 22 flexible event rooms. Its largest room, La Salle de Versailles, is listed for up to 500 guests at concerts and 320 at seminars, figures that conflict enough that I’d confirm the exact ceiling directly; the Belle Époque salons suit smaller parties, and the hotel has its own in-house wedding coordinator.
Kursaal Interlaken
A historic events hall with its own park, confirmed as a wedding location; no guest capacity is published.
Grandhotel Giessbach
A castle-style hotel on Lake Brienz beside the Giessbach Falls, reached by boat or funicular, confirmed as a wedding location; no guest capacity is published.
Höhematte Park and Harder Kulm
Not bookable venues. The open meadow in the center of town facing the Jungfrau, and the viewpoint above town reached by funicular, are where I’d plan portraits.
Your Interlaken Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Interlaken wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Switzerland page?
The Switzerland page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Interlaken, a valley town between two lakes under the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
What’s the best time of year for a Interlaken wedding?
June through September give the most reliable access to the surrounding cable cars and trails, with the clearest mountain views.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Interlaken has no airport of its own, guests fly into Zurich or Geneva and the final stretch is part of the experience, one of Switzerland’s most scenic rail routes either way.
Is a Swiss wedding ceremony actually legally binding, or just symbolic?
The legal marriage itself has to go through Interlaken’s civil registry, not a church or symbolic ceremony, those happen separately and don’t carry legal weight on their own. If neither of you is a Swiss resident, expect the paperwork to pass through a Swiss representation abroad first, a process that typically runs two to six months, so it’s worth starting well ahead of the wedding date.
Do we need a wedding planner in Interlaken?
The Victoria-Jungfrau has its own in-house wedding coordinator who covers most of the planning for an on-site wedding. A local planner is still worth having for the civil-ceremony registration itself, since that’s a Swiss legal process a hotel coordinator typically won’t manage directly.
