Aarhus Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Aarhus is Denmark’s second city, a compact university town on the Jutland coast with a wedding scene that runs from a centuries-old castle just outside town to a contemporary art museum with a rooftop ceremony space. This page looks at Aarhus specifically, separate from the Denmark country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the city and its surroundings, a formal dinner in a Renaissance knights’ hall, a ceremony on a museum rooftop, portraits through the Latin Quarter’s cobbled lanes. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Aarhus
Aarhus works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Aarhus: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Aarhus as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Aarhus
Three venues in and around Aarhus, from a Renaissance castle to a rooftop ceremony at Scandinavia’s largest art museum.

Rosenholm Slot, Hornslet
A moated Renaissance castle built between 1559 and 1610, about 25 minutes from Aarhus. The Knights’ Hall seats 120 for a formal dinner, with smaller halls available for more intimate weddings, and menu packages generally require at least 45 guests. Ceremonies can take place in the castle’s historic chapel or out in the surrounding park.
ARoS Aarhus Art Museum
A contemporary art museum in the city center, with ceremonies held on the rooftop beneath Olafur Eliasson’s “Your Rainbow Panorama”, moving indoors to the Level 8 walkway if it rains. Worth knowing before you book: the museum doesn’t allow photos of the rainbow walkway itself, and images of it can’t be used commercially, so I’d plan the rest of the day’s coverage around that restriction.
Comwell Aarhus
A modern city-center hotel with weddings for up to 180 guests and a complimentary wedding suite with a 180-degree view for the couple. A practical choice for a couple who wants a central base with no drive required.
The Latin Quarter
Not a bookable venue, Aarhus’s oldest neighborhood, cobbled lanes and half-timbered houses. It isn’t a ceremony space, but it’s where I’d plan a portrait session around an Aarhus wedding.
Your Aarhus Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, an Aarhus wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

How the Process Works
You send me a message with a few details about your wedding.
We schedule a free consultation call to understand your plans, your priorities, and see if our approach aligns.
If it feels right, we move forward – and on the day itself, you can be fully present while I take care of documenting everything.
Denmark Beyond Aarhus
Aarhus is the focus here, not all of Denmark. That broader picture lives on the Denmark guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Denmark page?
The Denmark page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Aarhus and its surroundings, including a Renaissance castle just outside the city and a contemporary museum venue inside it.
What’s the best time of year for an Aarhus wedding?
May through September gives the longest daylight and the most reliable weather, with June through August warmest for an outdoor ceremony in Rosenholm’s park.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Aarhus Airport has a limited schedule, so most guests connect through Billund, about an hour away by car, or fly into Copenhagen and take the train, roughly three hours.
Can we book Rosenholm Slot for just the ceremony, or does it require a full event booking?
Rosenholm runs on a package basis with a minimum guest count for its menus, currently 45, so I’d treat it as a full event booking rather than a ceremony-only rental. Worth confirming current minimums directly when you inquire.
Do we need a wedding planner in Aarhus?
For a historic property like Rosenholm, yes, a local planner who already knows the castle’s rules and logistics saves real coordination time, especially for a couple planning from abroad. ARoS and Comwell both run more standard in-house event processes.
