Somewhere in the Karst Plateau there is very old and historical village Štanjel and nearby an old there is located vineyard karstic estate. In the past, Villa Fabiani used to be a homestead with stable, an orangery, a wine cellar, and granary. A palce where hunderds of people worked each day.

After 2nd word war the estate got a different owner and this homestead, which was actually a little village, slowly started to lose it’s soul. The new owners, that were living in Milano, didn’t care that much this property and buildings with the gardens started decay.

8 years ago, Andrej and Blanka Malgaj, who is an architect, have visited this place and had a great vision to review this place and give it the life back. Blanka, who is also a new owner, has fulfilled a hidden desire of every architect – to get such a rough diamond in it and to shave it to shine in all its beauty. The place of Villa Fabiani from me is one of the most extraordinary beautiful places I have seen.

This place didn’t impress only me. Maja from Slovenia and Michael from Australia have decided to get all the way from Sydney to tie their knot in Villa Fabiani. Wedding in this amazing ambient was stumning and special. More in the photos …
