Aalborg Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Aalborg is the main city of North Jutland, with a wedding scene built around its own historic core rather than borrowed from elsewhere in Denmark: an 18th-century city hall, a medieval castle an hour’s drive northeast, and a modern hotel by the park at the center of town. This page looks at Aalborg specifically, separate from the Denmark country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the city and its surroundings, a ceremony in a centuries-old hall, a reception overlooking Kildeparken, portraits along the harbor. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Aalborg
Aalborg works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Aalborg: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Aalborg as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Aalborg
Three venues in and around Aalborg, from an 18th-century city hall to a medieval castle turned hotel.

Aalborg Old City Hall
Built between 1757 and 1762 in the late Baroque style, with a well-preserved Rococo door, the city’s former town hall now hosts wedding ceremonies and other representative occasions in the heart of Aalborg. I’d confirm directly with the municipality whether your ceremony qualifies as a civil wedding here or a symbolic one.
Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg
A modern hotel overlooking Kildeparken in the city center, with weddings for up to 216 guests seated at round tables. The Kilden room has a stage, a grand piano and a covered terrace over the park; a separate reception room on the 15th floor gives panoramic views across the city.
Dronninglund Castle, Dronninglund
A former Benedictine priory founded in the 12th century, later owned by Queen Charlotte Amalie, who gave the town its name. It’s now run as a hotel and restaurant by a preservation fund and hosts weddings among its events, in northern Jutland within reach of Aalborg for a couple who wants real medieval history over a purpose-built venue.
Aalborg Harbor and Jomfru Ane Gade
Not a bookable venue, the revitalized waterfront and the city’s historic entertainment street. It isn’t a ceremony space, but it’s where I’d plan a portrait session around an Aalborg wedding.
Your Aalborg Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, an Aalborg wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Denmark page?
The Denmark page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Aalborg, North Jutland’s main city, and its own mix of civic, castle and modern hotel venues.
What’s the best time of year for an Aalborg wedding?
May through September gives the longest daylight and the most reliable weather, with June through August warmest for an outdoor portrait session along the harbor.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Aalborg Airport has a small but useful domestic and European schedule and sits about 15 minutes from the city center, the simplest option for most guests. Billund and Copenhagen are further options for a wider range of connections, each two to three hours away by car.
Is the Old City Hall available for any couple, or only Aalborg residents?
I’d confirm directly with Aalborg Municipality. Civic buildings like this one sometimes prioritize local residents or have their own booking rules that aren’t always clear from the building’s history alone.
Do we need a wedding planner in Aalborg?
For a property like Dronninglund Castle, yes, a local planner who already knows the castle and the drive logistics from Aalborg saves real coordination time, especially for a couple planning from abroad. The city-center venues run more standard in-house booking processes.
