Geneva Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Geneva sits at the western tip of Lake Geneva, a city built around international diplomacy as much as tourism, with the Alps visible across the water on a clear day and a working Old Town around St. Pierre Cathedral. This page looks at Geneva specifically, separate from the Switzerland country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the city, a reception in a lakefront hotel ballroom, a legally-binding ceremony in a registered chateau room, portraits along the lake and through the Old Town. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Geneva
Geneva works for both an intimate ceremony and a large lakefront reception, and its hotel ballrooms can divide down into smaller rooms for a more private group.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Geneva: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Geneva as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Geneva
A grand lakefront hotel ballroom, a legally-registered chateau on the lake, and the city’s own civil-ceremony venue for the paperwork.

Hotel President Wilson
A lakefront hotel with a dedicated wedding brochure: the Salon Wilson ballroom runs to roughly 900 square meters with a 400 square meter foyer, divisible into six rooms, plus a 600 square meter lakeside terrace (the Poolgarden) that becomes an indoor Winter Garden in colder months. No guest-capacity figure is published, only the floor areas, and wedding packages require a 50-guest minimum.
Chateau de Coppet
About 30 minutes along the lake from Geneva, in the neighboring canton of Vaud, so worth knowing it’s a day-trip destination rather than in the city itself. Two of its rooms are registered with Vaud’s civil registry for a legally-binding ceremony, among six hireable spaces in total; no capacity is published.
Parc des Eaux-Vives
The City of Geneva’s own page on getting married names this hotel-restaurant, along with the nearby Palais Eynard, as where couples can extend the celebration after a civil ceremony at the former Eaux-Vives town hall. It’s city-endorsed rather than a typically marketed private venue, worth knowing about for exactly that reason.
The Jet d’Eau and Old Town
Not bookable venues. The Jet d’Eau, Geneva’s famous lakefront fountain, and the Old Town around St. Pierre Cathedral are the two portrait locations I come back to most.
Your Geneva Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Geneva wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Switzerland page?
The Switzerland page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Geneva, a lakefront city with its own mix of grand hotel ballrooms and registry-approved chateaux nearby.
What’s the best time of year for a Geneva wedding?
Late May through June and September give the most reliable weather while avoiding the heaviest summer crowds and prices on the lake.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Geneva Airport has direct flights from across Europe and several long-haul routes, making it one of the more straightforward Swiss cities to fly guests into directly.
Is a Swiss wedding ceremony actually legally binding, or just symbolic?
Only a civil ceremony at a Swiss Zivilstandsamt (civil registry office) is legally binding, any religious or symbolic ceremony has to follow it rather than replace it. If neither of you lives in Switzerland, the application goes through a Swiss representation abroad, gets posted publicly for ten days, and the wedding then has to happen within three months, so the whole process typically takes two to six months. I’d build that timeline in early if a legal Swiss wedding is the plan.
Do we need a wedding planner in Geneva?
For a hotel ballroom like Hotel President Wilson’s, the hotel’s own events team handles much of the coordination. For a chateau wedding or the civil-ceremony paperwork, I’d still recommend a local planner familiar with Swiss registry requirements.
