Nafplio Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Nafplio is a small Peloponnese port town rather than an island, its Old Town built below the Palamidi fortress, with the tiny Bourtzi castle sitting in the harbor itself. This page looks at Nafplio specifically, separate from the Greece country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the town, a church ceremony in the Old Town followed by a separate reception venue, which is the common pattern here, and portraits through the neoclassical lanes and up toward the fortress. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Nafplio
Nafplio works well for a smaller, more personal celebration, a church ceremony in the Old Town followed by a dinner at a nearby venue or on the beach at Karathona.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Nafplio: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Nafplio as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues in Nafplio
A neoclassical mansion hotel in the Old Town, a countryside retreat among olive groves, and the Palamidi fortress for portraits.

Hotel Ippoliti, Nafplio Old Town
A 19th-century neoclassical mansion turned 19-room boutique hotel in the Old Town. It’s listed as a wedding venue on third-party directories, though I couldn’t independently confirm hosting details or a guest-capacity figure on the hotel’s own site, worth checking directly.
Perivoli Country Hotel, Pyrgiotika
An agrotourism property among olive groves about 15 minutes outside town, with landscaped gardens that third-party listings describe as reception-ready. I couldn’t confirm a wedding-hosting statement or capacity from the hotel itself, so I’d treat it as a strong maybe rather than a certainty until confirmed directly.
The pattern here
Most Nafplio weddings I’ve come across follow a specific shape: a church ceremony in the Old Town, then a separate reception, often at a beach like Karathona or a countryside venue outside town. It’s worth planning the two locations together rather than assuming one venue covers both.
Palamidi Fortress and Bourtzi
Not bookable venues. The Palamidi is a Venetian fortress above the Old Town, reached by a genuine climb of several hundred stone steps (a back road also reaches it by car for anyone skipping the climb). Bourtzi is a small 15th-century castle on an islet in the harbor mouth, reachable only by boat.
Your Nafplio Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Nafplio wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Greece page?
The Greece page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Nafplio, a Peloponnese port town rather than an island, with its own Venetian fortress and neoclassical Old Town.
What’s the best time of year for a Nafplio wedding?
May, June and September give comfortable temperatures without the full heat of mid-July and August, when daytime highs regularly climb into the low 30s Celsius.
How do guests get to Nafplio?
Nafplio has no airport of its own. It’s roughly a two-hour drive or bus ride from Athens International Airport, so most guests will arrive into Athens and travel on from there.
Does one venue usually cover both the ceremony and reception?
Not usually. The common pattern here is a church ceremony in the Old Town followed by a separate reception, often at a countryside venue or a beach like Karathona, so it’s worth planning both locations together from the start.
Do we need a wedding planner in Nafplio?
Yes, I’d recommend one, particularly for coordinating a separate ceremony and reception venue and for confirming capacity and hosting details directly with whichever property you choose.
