Greece Wedding Photographer with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Greece spreads a wedding destination across the mainland and a scatter of islands, each with a genuinely different character, the Peloponnese’s hilltop resorts, Mykonos and Santorini’s caldera and coastline, Crete’s working harbors, and Athens’ own stretch of Riviera coast. Zakynthos, further west in the Ionian Sea, has earned its own dedicated page, which this page links to below.
I photograph weddings across the country, a ceremony in an open-air amphitheatre, a reception on a private beach, portraits along a caldera clifftop. Below are real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Greece
Greece works just as beautifully for an intimate elopement as it does for a larger celebration.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Greece: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Greece as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Greece
Five venues spread across the Greek mainland and islands, from a hilltop resort in the Peloponnese to Crete’s sculpture gardens and a caldera-view option on Santorini.

Amanzoe, Porto Heli, Peloponnese
An Aman resort on a hilltop in the Peloponnese, built around ancient Greek architectural forms, with a dedicated open-air Amphitheatre used for ceremonies and receptions. Weddings run as a full-resort buyout rather than a fixed headcount, I’d confirm scale and pricing directly with the resort for your guest list.
Santa Marina Mykonos
A resort on its own private peninsula on Mykonos, about four kilometers from Mykonos Town, with a whitewashed stone chapel, a private ceremony lawn, and Buddha-Bar Beach as the largest event space, holding up to 450 standing or 260 for a seated dinner. Indoor capacity across its five event rooms runs up to about 150.
Minos Beach Art Hotel, Agios Nikolaos, Crete
A boutique hotel on Mirabello Bay with its own open-air Sculpture Garden, more than 55 contemporary artworks woven through the grounds and waterfront. It hosts weddings with outdoor reception space and landscaped gardens; I’d confirm guest capacity directly, since the hotel doesn’t publish a fixed number.
One&Only Aesthesis, Athenian Riviera
A resort in Glyfada on the Athenian Riviera that opened in late 2023, set inside a 21-hectare beach and forest reserve. The Agora Ballroom seats up to 120, the Agora Veranda up to 250, and Mystiko Beach, a private turquoise cove, is available for an intimate beachfront ceremony.
Katikies Santorini, Oia
A luxury property in Oia with classic Santorini caldera architecture. Its confirmed wedding offering is a caldera-view boat cruise with a secluded sunset ceremony and private dinner, run with an outside wedding planner, worth knowing this is a different format from a fixed on-site venue, and the ceremony isn’t legally official without separately arranging that with a local planner.
Explore Weddings by City
Ten destinations have their own dedicated pages, with real venues and honest capacity notes.
- Zakynthos, in the Ionian Sea: private villas with sea views, away from the mainland and Aegean islands above.
- Santorini, in the Cyclades: caldera-rim wineries and cliffside terraces above the volcano.
- Mykonos, in the Cyclades: hillside resorts, beach clubs, and Mykonos Town’s windmills and Little Venice.
- Crete, the largest Greek island: olive-grove estates near Chania and waterfront resorts in Elounda.
- Rhodes, in the Dodecanese: a medieval Old Town and the hilltop village of Lindos.
- Corfu, in the Ionian Sea: Venetian-era estates among olive groves, with calmer winds than the Aegean.
- Athens and the Athens Riviera: city ballrooms near the Acropolis and coastal resorts toward Cape Sounio.
- Naxos, in the Cyclades: a quieter island of private estates and beach clubs, away from Santorini and Mykonos.
- Nafplio, on the Peloponnese coast: a Venetian fortress town, not an island.
- Monemvasia, on the Peloponnese coast: a medieval rock fortress, genuinely remote.
Your Greece Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Greece wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Greek destination is the right fit for our wedding?
It depends mostly on scale and atmosphere. The Peloponnese and the Athenian Riviera have the deepest bench of large-capacity resort venues, Mykonos and Santorini suit a couple who wants island glamour and are prepared for island logistics and pricing, and Crete and Zakynthos, covered on its own page, suit a quieter, more private celebration.
What’s the best time of year for a wedding in Greece?
Late May through June and September into early October give the most reliable weather while avoiding July and August’s peak heat, crowds and pricing. Island ferry and flight schedules also thin out considerably outside the main season, worth checking early.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Athens International Airport is Greece’s main international gateway and works for the Peloponnese and Athenian Riviera directly. Mykonos and Santorini both have their own airports with seasonal direct European connections, though guests from further afield will usually connect through Athens first.
Do we need a wedding planner in Greece?
Yes, I’d recommend one for most of the venues on this page, particularly on an island or for a resort buyout like Amanzoe, since local permits, catering logistics and guest transport add up quickly for a couple planning from abroad.
Can you photograph weddings across more than one Greek destination on the same trip?
Yes, this is fairly common, a Santorini ceremony with a few days built in for Mykonos, or an Athens wedding paired with a stretch on Crete or Zakynthos. I’m happy to build a multi-day or multi-island coverage plan around however your trip is shaped.
