Santorini Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Santorini is the Cyclades’ most recognizable island, a submerged volcanic caldera ringed by whitewashed villages, wineries carved into the cliff face, and towns built as viewing platforms for the sunset below. This page looks at Santorini specifically, separate from the Greece country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings across the island, a ceremony on a winery terrace above the caldera, a reception in a cliffside suite, portraits along Oia’s blue-domed streets. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Santorini
Santorini works beautifully for an intimate elopement, and its caldera-view terraces often favor a smaller, more private celebration given how little flat ground some of them have to work with.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Santorini: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Santorini as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues in Santorini
A cliffside winery above the caldera, a boutique hotel terrace in Oia, and the island’s most photographed sunset point for portraits.

Venetsanos Winery, Megalochori
A winery built into the caldera cliffs near the old port of Athinios, its Upper Terrace an open-air space of around 250 square meters looking straight across the caldera to the volcano. Published capacity runs to roughly 100 seated or 160 standing, with no indoor backup space.
Le Ciel, Imerovigli
A dedicated wedding venue rather than a hotel, with both indoor and outdoor spaces, balconies, terraces and gardens, built in traditional Cycladic style with caldera and sunset sea views. Third-party sources cite capacity up to 120 guests; I’d confirm the exact figure directly with the venue.
Santo Wines, Pyrgos
A well-known winery and restaurant complex on the caldera rim, hosting symbolic ceremonies on a terrace set into the wine-cellar grounds, overlooking the sea and the volcano. No published guest-capacity figure, worth confirming directly, and it appears to offer symbolic ceremonies only.
Canaves Oia, Oia
A boutique hotel group in Oia village offering weddings, elopements and proposals on its caldera-facing terraces. One of its veranda spaces is listed at up to 40 guests, though I’d confirm which exact property and space before relying on that number.
Oia’s Sunset Point and Blue-Domed Churches
Not bookable venues. The cliffside viewpoint near Oia Castle is the island’s classic sunset-shoot location, and the blue-domed Church of St. Anastasi and Church of the Akathist Hymn nearby are among the most photographed buildings on the island, both genuinely crowded at sunset in peak season.
Your Santorini Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Santorini wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Greece page?
The Greece page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Santorini, a submerged volcanic caldera ringed by cliffside villages, wineries and sunset-facing terraces unlike anywhere else in Greece.
What’s the best time of year for a Santorini wedding?
Late May through June and September into early October give the most reliable weather while avoiding July and August’s peak heat, crowds and cruise-ship traffic, when Oia’s sunset streets can get too crowded to walk through. Popular wineries and venues are typically booked well over a year ahead.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Santorini’s own airport has seasonal direct flights from several European cities, roughly April through October. Outside that window, or for guests coming from North America, Australia or Asia, flying into Athens and connecting is the more reliable option.
Is a civil ceremony in Santorini legally recognized back home?
It can be, but the paperwork is real: passports, full birth certificates and a Certificate of No Impediment to Marry, all apostilled and translated into Greek in advance. Many couples choose a symbolic ceremony here and handle the legal paperwork at home instead, which I’m happy to plan around either way.
Do we need a wedding planner in Santorini?
Yes, I’d recommend one. Between caldera-rim logistics, permits and venues that book out well over a year in advance, a local planner saves real coordination time for a couple planning from abroad.
