Positano Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Positano is the image most people have in their head before they have ever heard the word Amalfi, houses stacked in pastel tiers down a cliff to a small beach, boats moored in a bay the color you assume gets exaggerated in photographs until you see it yourself. Almost none of the venues here sit at street level. Getting married in Positano usually means a terrace built into the cliff face, reached by a private lift or a short boat ride rather than a driveway, which changes how a wedding day here actually runs.
I photograph weddings across that range, an intimate cliffside hotel above the beach, a family villa garden, and a former director’s residence accessible only by boat or a hidden lift. Below are three venues I would point a couple toward, plus the questions I get asked most before booking a wedding in Positano specifically.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Positano
Positano works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Positano: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Positano as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Positano
Three venues in and around Positano, from a cliffside former director’s residence to an intimate hotel above the beach.

Villa Treville, Positano
Once the private home of director Franco Zeffirelli, Villa Treville is three cliffside villas joined into one property, reached by a hidden lift built into the rock or a three-minute boat ride from Positano’s center. The Rotunda Terrace holds around 80 guests for the ceremony itself, with dinner moving to Maestro’s terraced restaurant or down to a beach club that seats 120. Fifteen suites across the property sleep up to 34 guests overnight, the kitchen still grows vegetables from Zeffirelli’s own organic garden, and the whole place runs April through October only.
Villa San Giacomo, Positano
A fully renovated villa above Positano’s center, with views that take in the town itself and the Li Galli islands offshore. Villa San Giacomo caps reception dinners at 60 to 70 guests, keeps catering entirely in-house, and rents by the week rather than the day, Saturday to Saturday, with eight suites sleeping 16 guests as standard and up to 24 using the attic rooms. Civil and symbolic ceremonies both happen on site in the garden, or off-site at a Positano church if you would rather.
Hotel Marincanto, Positano
A smaller cliffside hotel directly above Positano’s beach, built for a more intimate day, up to 25 guests for a symbolic ceremony on the cliff and 50 for the reception that follows. The infinity pool and panoramic terrace do most of the visual work, and an indoor terrace is kept ready in case the weather turns. Civil ceremonies happen at the town hall in Positano or one of the neighboring towns, and the hotel’s own team handles everything from there.
Your Positano Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Positano wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from an Amalfi wedding?
Positano and Ravello sit on the same coastline but look and function differently. Positano’s venues are almost all built into the cliff itself, reached by boat or a private lift rather than a driveway, and the town’s steep layout shapes the whole day in a way Ravello’s terraced gardens do not. If the image in your head is pastel houses stacked above a beach, this is the right page; if it’s a clifftop garden with a wider, flatter view, the Amalfi and Ravello page is the better starting point.
Do we need to plan around boat or lift access?
Often, yes. Villa Treville is reached by a hidden cliff lift or a short boat ride rather than a road, and several other Positano venues sit well below or above the main road with limited vehicle access. It is worth confirming exactly how your guests, and your vendors, will physically reach the venue before you book, since it affects timing more than it would at a venue you can simply drive up to.
What’s the best time of year for a Positano wedding?
Late May through June and September into early October, for the same reason as the rest of the coast, warm enough without August’s heat and cruise-day crowds through the village center. Villa Treville only operates April through October, which sets the outer bounds if that is the venue you want.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Naples is standard for the whole Amalfi Coast, with Positano roughly 90 minutes by car or considerably less by boat transfer, which several hotels here can arrange directly from Naples or Sorrento’s harbor.
Do we need a wedding planner for a Positano wedding?
Strongly recommended, more so than at a flatter, more accessible venue. Between cliff access, boat transfers, and civil ceremonies that typically happen at a separate town hall from the venue itself, Positano rewards a planner who already knows the town’s logistics rather than one learning them for the first time on your wedding week.
