Strasbourg Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Strasbourg sits right on the border with Germany, and that mixed history shows up in its architecture, a half-timbered old town built around canals, a single Gothic cathedral spire that stood as the world’s tallest building for over two centuries, and a wine route running south through Alsace lined with real, working châteaux rather than purpose-built function venues. This page looks at Strasbourg specifically, separate from the France country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
I photograph weddings in and around the city, a reception inside a historic château, a ceremony under a marquee in a château park, portraits along the canals of La Petite France. Below are the real venues worth knowing, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Strasbourg
Strasbourg works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Strasbourg: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Strasbourg as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Best Wedding Venues in Strasbourg
Three real châteaux in and around Strasbourg, from a Monument Historique just outside the city to a wine-route castle an hour south, plus the old town itself for portraits.

Château d’Osthoffen
A 12th-century château in the Bas-Rhin countryside just outside Strasbourg, classified as a Monument Historique. The park hosts a heated marquee from April through October, up to about 230 seated or 400 standing, with smaller indoor rooms for 30 to 100 guests when the weather doesn’t cooperate. The grand staircase in the park is the venue’s own signature spot for portraits.
Château de l’Île, Ostwald
A 62-room hotel a few minutes south of central Strasbourg, built in 1891 around a 17th-century castle on an island formed by a branch of the Ill river, briefly renamed Schloss Inselburg when Alsace was part of the German Empire. It hosts weddings directly through the hotel, though it doesn’t publish a set guest-capacity figure, worth confirming with them directly for your size of celebration.
La Confrérie Saint-Étienne, Kientzheim
About an hour south of Strasbourg on the Alsace wine route, a 16th-century château built into the ramparts of Kientzheim and home to a centuries-old wine brotherhood. Underneath the park sits the Oénothèque, a cellar holding more than 65,000 bottles of Alsace wine. The Grand Caveau holds up to 160 seated or 200 for a standing reception.
La Petite France and Strasbourg Cathedral
Not bookable venues, Strasbourg’s half-timbered old town along the canals and the Gothic cathedral at its center. Neither hosts a wedding, but both are an essential stop for portraits if your ceremony or reception is out on the wine route.
Your Strasbourg Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Strasbourg wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your France page?
The France page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Strasbourg and the Alsace wine route around it, with its half-timbered old town and historic wine-route châteaux.
What’s the best time of year for a Strasbourg wedding?
May through June and September through early October give the most reliable weather without summer’s peak heat or crowds. September also catches the Alsace wine harvest, a genuinely beautiful time to be at a venue like La Confrérie Saint-Étienne.
Which airport should our guests fly into?
Strasbourg Airport handles mostly regional and European flights, so for guests connecting from further afield, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, about an hour to ninety minutes away, or Frankfurt, about two hours away, usually works better.
Is Château de l’Île actually in Strasbourg, or outside it?
It’s in Ostwald, a few minutes south of central Strasbourg, on an island formed by a branch of the Ill river. Close enough that a same-day portrait session back in La Petite France is genuinely practical.
Do we need a wedding planner in Strasbourg?
For a historic property like Château d’Osthoffen or La Confrérie Saint-Étienne, yes, a local planner saves real coordination time, especially for a couple planning a wedding here from abroad.
