Thasos Wedding Photographer
with a Documentary and Editorial Style

Thasos sits in the North Aegean, close to the Greek mainland near Kavala, reachable only by ferry rather than by direct flight. It’s one of the less touristy Greek islands, with an economy and history built on marble, quarried here since antiquity and exported across the ancient world. This page looks at Thasos specifically, separate from the Greece country page elsewhere on this site, which spreads out across the whole country.
Thasos doesn’t have the resort-wedding infrastructure of islands like Kos or Zakynthos, so this page leans on what the island is actually good for: a small, private ceremony and portraits among genuinely striking ancient ruins. Below is what I’ve found, plus the questions couples ask me most before booking a wedding here.
From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Thasos
Thasos is better suited to a small, intentional elopement than a large resort wedding, given how little dedicated wedding infrastructure the island actually has.
I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding
No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Thasos: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage
Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Thasos as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.
Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.
For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.
This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.
The Wedding Venues at Thasos
Thasos’s hotels show up in wedding directories, but none has confirmed its own wedding hosting directly, so I’m honest about that here, alongside two genuinely striking ancient sites for portraits.

A Note on Thasos’s Hotels
Several hotels on the island, including Thassos Grand Beach, A for Art Hotel, Princess Golden Beach, Alexandra Elegance, and Makryammos Bungalows, appear in general wedding directories, but I haven’t found any of them confirming their own wedding packages or capacity directly. If one of these is on your shortlist, I’d confirm hosting and capacity with the hotel itself before counting on it.
Ancient Theatre of Thasos, Limenas
Not a bookable venue, but a genuinely striking one for portraits: a restored ancient Greek theatre built from the island’s own pale marble, above the old harbor town of Limenas.
Ancient Agora of Thasos
Harbor-side ruins of the island’s ancient marketplace, a quieter, more atmospheric portrait location a short walk from the theatre.
Your Thasos Wedding Photographer
I’m Dejan, a Thasos wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.
I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this page different from your Greece page?
The Greece page on this site covers the country broadly. This page looks specifically at Thasos, a quieter North Aegean island built around marble and ancient ruins rather than a resort-wedding scene, reachable only by ferry.
What’s the best time of year for a Thasos wedding?
Late May through June and September give the most reliable weather while avoiding July and August’s peak heat and crowds.
How do we get to Thasos?
Thasos has no airport of its own. Access is by ferry only, from Kavala into Limenas or from Keramoti into Skala Prinou. The nearest airport is Kavala’s Alexander the Great Airport, roughly an hour from Athens by air, followed by the ferry crossing. Ferries run frequently, but tickets are bought at the port rather than booked online in advance.
Can any of Thasos’s hotels actually host our wedding?
I haven’t found first-party confirmation from any of the island’s hotels that they host weddings, only general directory listings. If you have one in mind, I’d confirm directly with the hotel before building plans around it.
Do we need a wedding planner in Thasos?
Given how little dedicated wedding infrastructure the island has, yes. A local planner can help confirm which venues genuinely host weddings and handle the ferry logistics for guests.
