Ireland’s best wedding venues cluster around its cities rather than spreading evenly across the country, a castle inside Dublin, a cluster of grand estates around Limerick and Shannon, a lakeside castle near Galway, and a private island off Waterford. Each city below has earned its own dedicated guide, with real venues, honest capacity figures, and the logistics couples ask me most before booking there.

I photograph weddings across the country, a reception inside a Norman castle, a ceremony in a walled garden, a wedding dinner on a private island reached by ferry. Below is where to start, city by city, plus the questions couples ask me most before planning a wedding in Ireland.

From Intimate Elopements to Big Weddings in Ireland

Ireland works just as beautifully for intimate elopements as it does for larger and multi-day celebrations.

I photograph:
– quiet, intentional elopements with just the two of you
– small weddings with close family and friends
– full wedding days with a larger guest count
– multi-day wedding celebrations, including welcome dinners and relaxed moments before or after the wedding

No matter the size or length of the celebration, my focus is always the same: real moments, strong atmosphere, and portraits that feel natural rather than posed. The scale may change, but the intention doesn’t.

Wedding Videographer in Ireland: Photo and Hybrid Video Coverage

Alongside photography, I also offer wedding video coverage in Ireland as part of a hybrid photo and video approach.

Video is treated as an extension of the photography, captured with the same sensitivity to light, timing, and atmosphere. The focus stays on real moments, movement, and sound, without staged scenes or intrusive production.

For weddings that benefit from an additional perspective, a dedicated videographer can also be included, always working in the same calm, unobtrusive way and fully aligned with how I photograph the day.

This approach works especially well for destination weddings, where intimacy, setting, and emotion matter more than spectacle.

Explore Weddings by City

Five cities across Ireland, each with its own dedicated page: real venues, honest capacity notes, and the logistics couples ask about most before booking there.

  • Dublin: a 12th-century castle inside the city itself, plus a grand estate ballroom twenty minutes south in the Wicklow hills.
  • Cork: East Cork’s wooded estates, from a manor beside a ruined castle to a working farmhouse table at Ballymaloe.
  • Galway: a famous lakeside castle near Cong, a restored abbey minutes from the city, and a small lodge deep in Connemara.
  • Limerick: the Gothic manor at Adare and the ancestral O’Brien castle at Dromoland, just over the Clare border.
  • Waterford: a 15th-century castle on its own private island, reached only by chain ferry.

Your Ireland Wedding Photographer

I’m Dejan, a Ireland wedding photographer.
My focus is always the wedding itself, not performances for the camera. The photos are simply a reflection of the day: genuine, calm, and emotionally grounded.

I take my work seriously, but never myself too seriously. A relaxed atmosphere, clear communication, and quiet confidence make all the difference, especially for destination weddings.

From the moment we met Dejan, he made us feel completely at ease. He has a calm and kind presence, and captured every emotion of the day in a way that felt honest and natural. Nothing felt forced or over-posed, yet he was always in the right place at the right time. His work feels intimate and timeless, and we’ll treasure these photos for the rest of our lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Irish city is the right fit for our wedding?

It depends mostly on the scale and setting you want. Dublin and Limerick have the grandest castle and manor venues, Cork leans more toward food-led country houses, Galway suits a couple who wants lake or mountain scenery, and Waterford’s private island is genuinely unlike anywhere else on this list.

What’s the best time of year for a wedding in Ireland?

Late May through September gives the most reliable weather across the whole country, though Ireland’s weather is changeable at any time of year, every venue on these pages plans for an indoor backup regardless of season.

What do we need to legally marry in Ireland as foreign nationals?

You’ll need to give at least three months’ notice to a Registrar in the district where the ceremony will take place, in person, with both of you present. Most of the venues on these pages are licensed for civil ceremonies on site, and each city’s page covers venue-specific detail.

Which airport should our guests fly into?

Dublin Airport is the main international gateway, with Cork and Shannon handling direct European and some transatlantic routes close to the southern and western venues. Each city’s page names the closest option.

Can you photograph weddings across more than one Irish destination on the same trip?

Yes, this is fairly common, a Dublin wedding with a few days built in around the Wicklow hills, or a Limerick wedding paired with time in Galway or along the Wild Atlantic Way. I’m happy to build a multi-day or multi-city coverage plan around however your trip is shaped.
