Villa Ottoboni, Padua
An authorized municipal venue for both civil marriages and civil unions right in Padua itself, Villa Ottoboni holds up to 200 guests in its main hall with a 20,000 square meter park for the reception outside, plus a consecrated chapel on the grounds for a religious ceremony in the same place. It is the venue on this page for a couple who wants the legal ceremony, the party, and the photos to all happen in one location without leaving the city.
Villa Contarini, Piazzola sul Brenta
Built on the remains of a castle dating back to the year 1000 and now owned by the Veneto Region itself, Villa Contarini sits about half an hour north of Padua and combines genuinely majestic historic halls with grounds that also host concerts and cultural events through the year. It is the largest and most formal of the venues on this page, suited to a couple who wants real architectural weight in their reception photos.
Villa Foscarini Rossi, Stra
On the Riviera del Brenta toward Venice, this was once the home of Marco Foscarini, one of the last Doges of the Venetian Republic, and its mid-1600s frescoes still cover the reception rooms where the property’s Rossimoda footwear museum now also lives. A ten thousand square meter garden with a hedge maze handles the outdoor side of the day, with capacity for around 150 guests at a seated dinner.
Palazzo della Ragione, Padua
Padua’s own thirteenth century civic hall, its Salone said to be the largest medieval room in Europe still standing without interior columns, sits at the heart of the market squares in the city center. It isn’t a ceremony venue itself, the city’s own program allows newlyweds who marry elsewhere in Padua to come here afterward for portraits under the frescoed hall and out on the loggia facing Piazza delle Erbe, which makes it one of the most distinctive backdrops on this page rather than a booking on it.
